Republican Primary 2024

 

The 2024 Republican Party presidential primaries and caucuses are being organized by state Republican parties and legislatures to select their delegates to the 2024 Republican National Convention, to determine the party's nominee for president in the 2024 U.S. presidential election. The elections will take place individually in all 50 U.S. states, the District of Columbia, and five U.S. territories, between January and June 2024. The 2024 Republican National Convention is scheduled to be held in July at the Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Candidates

The following candidates have declared their candidacy for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination:

• Ron DeSantis, governor of Florida
• Nikki Haley, former governor of South Carolina and former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations
• Mike Pence, former vice president of the United States
• Vivek Ramaswamy, entrepreneur and author
• Tim Scott, U.S. senator from South Carolina
• Chris Christie, former governor of New Jersey
• Doug Burgum, governor of North Dakota

Polls

A recent poll by FiveThirtyEight shows Donald Trump with a large lead in the Republican primary field, with 55.3% of the vote. Ron DeSantis is in second place with 14.2% of the vote, followed by Vivek Ramaswamy with 7.0%, Nikki Haley with 5.5%, and Mike Pence with 4.7%.
