UEFA Europa League

The UEFA Europa League is an annual football club competition organised by the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) for eligible European football clubs. It is the second-tier competition of European club football, ranking below the UEFA Champions League and above the UEFA Europa Conference League.
The Europa League was introduced in 1971 as the UEFA Cup, replacing the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup. It was renamed the UEFA Europa League in 2009–10. The competition is open to teams that finish second, third, or fourth in their domestic leagues, as well as teams that win their domestic cup competitions.
The Europa League is played in a group stage and knockout stage format. The group stage consists of 32 teams divided into eight groups of four teams each. The top two teams from each group advance to the knockout stage, which begins with the round of 32. The knockout stage is played in a two-legged format, with the aggregate score determining the winner. The final of the Europa League is a single match played at a neutral venue. The winner of the Europa League qualifies for the following season's UEFA Champions League group stage. The Europa League is one of the most popular football competitions in the world, with a large television audience and a significant financial impact on the participating clubs.
